This week I will perform surgery!

Nanowrimo was four months ago and I am finally able to admit that the story I wrote doesn't work. ARGG! It starts out as a ghost story and turns into some sort of fantasy. Both halves are great, but I don't love them together. Sigh.

I read a facebook post by Tristi Pinkston where she stated that out of 50,000 words, maybe half of her nanowrimo story worked. It wasn't until then that I finally accepted the same thing about my book. So much for letting my imagination run wild. It was super fun to participate in this contest, and I would do it again, but writing, writing, writing without plot planning can come back to bite you in the tush.

This week I will start the surgery I know I must perform. As much as it hurts, the operation has to happen--cuts have to be made, stitches applied etc...

The moral of the story is this . . . . It's okay to write like a maniac, but be willing to hack that Frankenstein to pieces if necessary!
