What a wild day! I can't believe I've waited until 7:30pm to write a post! I've chosen to write on Motherhood.
Being a mom, I truly try to keep my kids first. They'll only be young for a short while and I want to give them as much time as I can. Although if I don't take breaks, I'll go insane.
That's where the writing comes in. I figure it's a lot cheaper to write then to pay for therapy. Plus, there's an option to get paid, even if it's a pittance, if you're good enough.
I also love the example I've set for my kids. They've seen me set a goal and persevere. They've read my stories. (since I write YA and MG) and they are excited for me and have learned that if you want something bad enough, you only have to work for it.
Favorite kid comment about writing: "Mom, writing is not work. You're having too much fun." That comment was made after one of my kids came in to interrupt my writing time and I told them I was working.
Another good lesson. Choose a job you love.

Haha! From the mouths of babes ;). I love that!
Thanks for stopping by my blog, too. It's nice to meet you!
Writing is definitely therapeutic. I think that's one of the reasons I keep writing, because it's a way for me to write out what I'm feeling and make sense of it.
Hello, Melissa. Nice to meet you. Follower #380 here. :) Thanks for the follow. Don't worry about those 40's - I just turned 42 myself. No worries!
Have a great weekend and take care.

Great post. For me, some days it's fun, some days, not so much... but always rewarding, especially when I get to the end. Of a draft. And then back round we go...

Moody Writing
Yay for you- and for your wonderful and very supportive children!! Take care

It's a great thing to have built-in alpha readers. They get to see you making time for being creative and doing things you love too.
It does sound like you having too much fun. LOL
I better leave a message since you're constantly watching.
Thank you for following my blog.I have you on my blogroll.
Your feelings concerning your children are wonderful. As you can tell from my blog, they are my soft spot.
Over time, I will get to know more about you and your blog. So far, I am liking what I see.
I love my job, too.
You're right about your children. It seems as though all you have to do is blink and they're suddenly grown with children of their own, so enjoy their childhood while you can. (I don't believe anyone has ever looked back and regretted spending "too much" time with their children!)
And they're hard taskmasters too. I gave my son one of my stories to read. He asked me, well, where is the rest of it?
