I just watched the final episode of the Oprah show. How moving. How beautiful her message was. If you didn't see it, you really missed out. I feel richer for having heard her words today.
What an influence for good she's been in the world. I wasn't a regular watcher of her show, but if I ever happened to be folding laundry at that time of day, I would turn it on.
Today she talked about following your dreams. That we are all here for a reason. To use your platform to do good. Whether your platform is as a writer, a wife, husband, friend, entrepreneur, secretary or whatever. It doesn't matter. Make your mark. Give love. Spread joy. Become who you were meant to become. The very best you.
I have used Oprah's words to teach my kids, to teach my Sunday school class, and to teach myself. You may not have agreed with her politics or all of her opinions, but there is no denying she was doing her best to spread love, happiness and joy to as many people in the world as she could.
She never missed of day of work in 25 years. Now that's amazing.
I will miss her, just knowing she won't be on every day at 4:00.
Good luck, Oprah, and God speed!

I don't have T.V. programing, so I missed out! But years ago, when I did, I watched her interview a mother of five who wrote songs and played the guitar. She had given up on her dreams because of the kids, but one day she started writig songs again. She wrote a song that she later sold to Faith Hill, and it ended up being the cover of one of her albums.
This inspired me back then to pick up my own pen! So glad I did! What a wonderful legacy Oprah leaves behind!

I won't get to see it until tomorrow because my viewing area had tornado warnings this afternoon. It's sad to see her go.
I love that she used her "voice" to try to make a difference in the world. She did as much good as she could with what she had. I think of all the many spin offs she created, her voice will still be heard. Loving your blog.
Lisa! Thank you so much! That makes me feel so good! I wish I had more time to visit other's blogs too. I'll be over to all of yours shortly!
What an icon and what an end of an era! Take care

She's something. I was never a "watcher" but cannot deny her appeal. She will be missed at the 4:00 slot, but she'll continue to spread her message in other ways.
People sometimes cop out of taking action, because, they say, "One person can't make a difference." Ah, but they can! Oprah proved it.
Agreed. I only could get channel 8 if I held the antennae in my hand and held my tongue just right, but sometimes it was worth the pain just to watch her.
I think she achieved much good through her show.
I keep reading how amazing her last show was and missed it! Do you know if anyone is playing it online? I can't believe that she was on TV longer than I have been alive. And hasn't missed work the entire time. She really is an inspiration and I hope she has much success with her network, OWN.

It's pretty amazing that it was her last show. I really would like to watch it.
Nice work. I came across your blog while “blog surfing” using the Next Blog button on the blue Nav Bar located at the top of my blogger.com site. I frequently just travel around looking for other blogs which exist on the Internet, and the various, creative ways in which people express themselves. Thanks for sharing.
