Out of the gate and running hard!

I couldn't stand not starting nanowrimo on time, so what did I do? I started, of course. Headache and all. What is Tylenol for, for heaven's sake? Not much can stop me when I have a goal. Guess I'm more like my mother than I thought. Scary.

I had a book I was working on, that I was planning on using, but changed my mind at the very last second.

So I started a story that I didn't plan, didn't outline, and didn't even know I wanted to write. Just off the top of my head, I let my fingers fly. As of day two, I have over 11 thousand words. I'm not sure of the exact count because the word count on my computer is off from the one on nanowrimo. On my computer I have 11, 684. On the nano site, I have 11,496. I don't know where that difference is coming from, but I'm not too bent out of shape about it.

The story is a YA paranormal. Basically, a ghost story. I LOVE ghost stories. And get this. I'm NOT going back to correct and fix things. It's the first time I've ever written like that. I thought it would be harder, but it's not too bad. I just keep going, writing chapter after chapter. So far, I love it. In one month, I'll have a new novel to sell. How cool is that?

It's not too late to start--for those of you who wanted to but didn't! Go sign up and let the words flow from your fingertips. It's not as hard as you think.! Good luck! You can track my progress here.

Over 11,000 words in two days?!!?! Wow!! Wow!! Well done you!! And it;s brilliant that you are enjoying the creative process too!! Well done!

I hope your headache goes away - that's really suffering for one's art!! But nearly 12,000 words is terrific! Yay! Take care

Wow, great job!! You've already gotten a huge fraction of the job done after just two days! Definitely don't worry about editing - just write for the fun of it!

Holy cow!! You are awesome!! I wish I could write that much in 2 days! ;) Good luck! I think I may be dropping out of NaNo and finishing my revisions and edits for my WIP. I'm too into the story to put it down for a month. Maybe I'll Nano next year. :)
