In a rut

My goal of blogging more often doesn't seem to have panned out! But here I am again. I was just sitting here trying to start a new chapter in my WIP, but my muse has taken the day off. That doesn't happen to me very often. Does anyone have advice on firing this lazy muse and hiring a new one? Do they place ads in the paper? I'm willing to pay handsomely!

Okay, I'm sitting here, my fingers poised above the keyboard and I still can't think of anything to say after a whole minute! How is that possible? How often does this happen to you? What is the best remedy? Maybe I need a vacation. Maybe I need a massage, or maybe a good, fast run. Yeah, like I'm going to go for a run. Hello? I'm tired!

So, this is it. I'm going to sign off now and plan my gospel doctrine lesson that I have been putting off for two weeks. I'm so sick of Abraham! It's time to move on! Come on, give us something different to study! Five weeks of Abraham is enough! But that is just me ranting. Okay, I feel better. Going to go study my boring lesson now.

I'm telling you - go over to Charlotte's blog and PLAY along with US! midwinter musical madness is fun - and right up your ally. (still no one has answered the one from yesterday that you will know...)

Melissa, you are so funny! Can I come visit your Gospel Doctine class tomorrow lol?

As for the muse thing, it's probably because you're in editing, and you keep hearing Kristine's voice in your head whenever you go to write: "What!? Don't write that, it's awkword and wordy!" Enough to put anyone off writing lol!

You can see I'm having your same problem by the sad dearth of posts over at my place. ;)

Well you did take the first step to coaxing your Muse. You wrote this blog! Write little things, make yourself write a little everyday until your Muse feels the inspiration. It doesn't even have to make sense, who is going to read it? Just you. ;) I have to force myself to write something every day when I get into a rut like this. Once the inspiration strikes, the Muse is doing her actual job, it becomes easier and then I don't have to write every single day if I don't want to, but I certainly don't get stuck so quickly.
Good luck! ::pokes your Muse to motivate you::

Hey, Melissa. I find that if I do the church stuff first, my Muse is so ready to play!
