Another day in the life

It's the beginning of another week. Can you freakin' believe it? I swear, the older I get, the faster the days fly by. I wake up and two minutes later, I feel like I'm going back to bed. I did have the time to write two and a half chapters in my sequel, The Celestine Sword, though. I love how it's coming along. I'm almost done.

I keep thinking I need more fighting, more action. I just know WiDo is going to tell me to put more of that in, but at the moment, it's too close to see at the moment. You know what I mean? I think I just need to finish it, then go back and add where I need to.

I use my baby's nap time as writing time. Today, he only slept for an hour. (if he really even went to sleep at all) Then he brings me book after book to read to him. I love that. I can't believe that at two and a half years, he has the attention span to sit on my lap, book after book. None of my other kids ever did that.

Normally, I don't write about personal things on this blog, but I want to say how eternally grateful I am to have my little Wyatt. We got him as a newborn and adopted him when he was one. I'd always had the feeling there was one more, but I was getting old and the thought of going through another pregnancy was a daunting prospect. I think God knew I needed an easy, beautiful baby to end with. I adore this little boy with all my heart. I would die without him. (That's being a bit dramatic, but true, none the less.)

So there it is. I'm a mother of five, trying to write between piano lessons, homework and sports. It's an exciting life when I don't have a headache!

My little sister is about to adopt her first baby. It's such a beautiful thing to witness. I am filled with gratitude to her baby's birth mother for her sacrifice and filled with love for this new baby girl who will soon be a part of our family.

So glad you have your own beautiful little miracle. =]

how lovely, Melissa, I love it! I'm always about just finishing the book. The sooner I finish it, the sooner I can revise it, b/c heaven knows draft #1 is awful!

As for your sweet baby, what a beautiful sentiment.I also do my writing when the kids are napping, and luckily my four year old still takes up to three hour naps! both ofmy boys like story time at night, but they hardly ever ask me to read during the day. what a cutie! Children are so precious!
