I am exhausted! For the last month we have hosted a Japanese exchange student. It has been fun, hard, expensive and tiring! Not sure I want to do it again. I already have five kids from 3 to 15! Anyway, it was a huge learning experience. The point I'm trying to make is that I had hardly any time to work on my writing.
But I do want to spread the good news. I'm done with the last huge edit of my manuscript! Woo hoo! The rest of the fixing will be through email. I can't tell you how good it felt to mail it off! I cut it down by almost 20k words, tightened and fixed things. I think it will be a big hit. A special thanks to Kristine for believing in my story and knowing I could make it even better. You go, girl!!
So, now I am going back to my sequel to change and fix things there so it matches book one! I was warned about writing a sequel while your first book is in editing. VERY dangerous business!
School starts on Aug 30th for my kids and I'm chomping at the bit! I can't wait for my vacation from summer vacation. Don't get me wrong, I've love being home, taking the kids places, visiting museums, going to Lagoon. But I'm ready for quiet, for peace and for time to actually work on my writing!
