Favorite Past time

To be honest, I don't buy a ton of books. I just can't afford it, but the book mobile parks across the street from my house every two weeks and what a wonderful thing it is!

I check out at least ten books every couple of weeks and no, I don't usually read them all. I check out that many because quite honestly, I know I won't be able to get into some of them and I want something else to pick up. I read every day. Yes, EVERY DAY! I have my pampering time where I ignore any and all who happen to be in the house, I fill up my big tub and soak, reading for at least twenty minutes. Sometimes longer.

You see, I've learned that if I'm not happy, there ain't no happiness for anyone else at home either. I do believe it was my mother that instilled the love of reading while bathing. She was a soaker/reader and all my sisters now soak in the tub, reading, too. She taught us well. Even my own kids love to do this, although I prefer they don't until I can trust them not to drop their books in the water. I've only done that once.Yikes! Phillip, the book mobile man, is not happy I read in the tub, but alas, I refuse to stop.

I don't know about any of you, but when I find an author I like, I search out his/her books until I've read them all. Lately, I'm in love with Orson Scott Card. Right now I'm reading The Treasure Box. Whenever I find one of his stories, I ALWAYS check it out. I LOVE his stuff! He's humorous, witty and real. He's one of my idols. I highly recommend him. He's famous for writing Ender's Game for those of you who don't know.

Anyway, what are your reading habits? Who do you love? Who's books would you never pass up? And are you brave enough to read in the tub?
